KOJAIN Scholarship Program

Each year, three to four months before the beginning of the new academic year, KOJAIN solicits applications for one or more scholarships from those desirous of furthering their college education and entering college in the Fall of that year as freshmen.   

All Kachchhi Oswal Jain community students from North America are eligible to apply. Applicants must enroll in a college first-year program by the Fall. All applicants must:

1.         be a current high school senior. Each applicant must submit a full transcript including the current school year on or before June 17^th of the year..  Photocopies are acceptable.  If mailed by school, the transcript still must be post-marked by June 17 of the year of the application..

2.         provide one written recommendation and character reference from a teacher, counselor, friend, or a KOJAIN member (not related to applicant).  Recommendation must be submitted with the application package.

3.         list and briefly describe awards and/or extracurricular activities/services on a separate page.  Please provide enough information so that the selection committee will understand the nature of your extracurricular activities.

4.         provide your email address.  We will acknowledge the receipt of your completed application and also to provide the result of the competition by email.  All applicants will be notified by August 19 of the scholarship award year..

5.                  submit one typed, double-spaced essay.  The essay should be on either one of the following two topics given on scholarship award year. The essay must be at least one full page and must not exceed two pages.

6.         provide results of American College Testing (ACT) or Scholastic Aptitude Testing (SAT), or any other entrance examinations scores as applicable.

7.        KOJAIN  reserves the right to amend these guidelines as and when necessary.

            Applicants should mail all related material and two passport size photographs  in one package, unfolded, in a 9" by 12" (or larger) envelope, postmarked by June 17 of the scholarship award year, to Dinesh Chheda, 14 Paris Pl., Parsippany, NJ  07054.
