Studying in US, scholarships and grants can help a student a long way. As for International students scholarships are offered primarily based on merit and rarely on need. The amount, and type of assistance offered varies, based on the university, department and level of study. Assistance of funds is more likely in Graduate studies and less in Undergraduate courses. Graduate scholarships are offered in various ways like Interest Free Loans, Merit based Scholarships, Teaching Assistantships and Research Assistantships. Most of the private universities like USC, Stanford and others have programs for financial aid to International students which can cover from 50% to even 100% of the tuition fees.
